To consolidate the spirit and culture of volunteering as a sustainable vision and behavior in the Emirati society and to embody the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may Allah protect him – and in honor of the immortal human legacy left to us by the Late/ Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan – may Allah rest his soul in peace – the founding father of the United Arab Emirates; the pioneering initiative (A Day for Dubai), has been launched by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, as a kind announcement of of His Highness to put the creative idea and vision into action. Seeing in action; so that everyone can remember the difference that one day of giving makes.
A Day for Dubai is a call to all members of society for community solidarity and compassion, so that all the people are of one heart devoted to our Nation. Volunteering in any field for one day a year at least with the aim of meeting the needs of our society, preserving our city and protecting our environment.
This initiative encourages volunteers to lead volunteer work commensurate with their talents and practical experience, at their own initiative, to allocate part of their time to engage in volunteer activity with various government and private initiatives to serve the community.
